James Lee Park In addition to the beach across the street from the condo complex, there are other beaches which are clean and safe.
James Lee Park, located on Old Highway 98, has covered picnic shelters where you can leave your cooler and go back and eat lunch. The park has clean restrooms, outdoor showers, and a playground for children (pictures at left). A volleyball net is always up for action.
The Crab Trap restaurant is located at this park with an open pavillion and an ice cream
parlor.
Henderson State Park/Recreation Area Located directly on the Gulf of Mexico where you will find more than 6,000 feet of scenic shoreline is Henderson Beach State Park.
This park is located just across the street from a Super WalMart.
Wildlife is found throughout the park and you will see a variety of shorebirds. Protected sea turtles nest along the beach in the early summer. Although the turtles typically come ashore to nest at night, they can sometimes be seen in the water during the day.
One of the most beatiful sights while visiting this park ia a breathtaking view of a Dolphin family (porpoise) as they emerge from the waters for a breath of air, or a group of Rays as they soar across the shallow waters along the shoreline.
